The night was ablaze according to one resident who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity. The hoodlums had held the residents of Okepopo area, Adeniji Adele, Lagos island hostage all evening for failing to provide a former resident who's family they kidnapped three years ago and he had somehow paid to get his family back before immediately leaving the country.
He explained that prior to the arrival of escorts attached to an army General who engaged the cultists in a gun battle chasing them off with several of the cult members said to have been wounded in the shootout, they had barricaded the road stopping those coming from work from entering and those at home from leaving.
